Yesterday, Hidalgo County Health Department reported 143 people tested positive for COVID-19. The County also had two citizens die from complications of the infection. The two women were in their 40s and 70s and had underlying medical conditions.

The total number of known actively infected people in Hidalgo County is now 1255. Sixty-seven people have been hospitalized with complications, of which eight are receiving treatment in intensive care units.

Today, the City of Mission, Texas resumes a curfew for residents, limiting movement to essential workers. Other cities in the County may do the same given the sudden jump in cases of infected people.
